Kayla Tefono
With over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience in Early Childhood Education across the Wellington and Kāpiti regions, I bring a deep understanding of the challenges faced by kaiako and a strong commitment to equitable opportunities for tamariki and their whānau. I have a particular interest in the experiences of Pacific peoples in education and support leaders and kaiako to strengthen their practices through frameworks such as Tapasā. My mahi is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi–led practice and a commitment to honouring our responsibilities as Tangata Tiriti. In my role as a PLD facilitator, I value working alongside leaders, kaiako, and services to develop strategies that ensure new knowledge is meaningfully embedded, enhancing connection and fostering inclusive, culturally sustaining learning environments where all tamariki, whānau, and kaiako can thrive.
