MoE Year 7-10 Writing 2026
Tātai Angitu, Massey University is delighted to be a Ministry of Education approved provider of Targeted SLA and Writing Professional Learning and Development (PLD) (Tier 2 and 3). This PLD programme is funded by the Ministry of Education.
Grounded in the science of learning, we bring deep expertise in structured literacy approaches aligned with the English Learning Area (ELA) to support evidence-informed writing instruction for Years 7-10 students with literacy and language learning difficulties, including dyslexia.
Our PLD
-
Supports teacher to plan and deliver explicit, targeted, and tailored writing instruction that accelerates student progress, grounded in the Science of Learning.
-
Builds teacher capacity to recognise and respond to student needs though assessment and targeted, evidence-informed interventions.
-
Develops teacher content knowledge of writing and writing processes, central to the ELA.
Fundamental to our approach is supporting responsive and sustainable teaching, where universal instruction and targeted interventions work together, and teacher and school capacity is strengthened for long-term success.
Our Training
Spread across four terms of delivery, the timeline of our proposed workshops is thoughtfully designed to include carefully monitored pacing, timely guidance and coaching, and sustainable and successful participant completion.
