Catriona (Cat) Pene
With over three decades of experience in the education sector, Cat has been a primary teacher, literacy and curriculum lead, professional learning facilitator, and project and team manager. At Tātai Angitu, Cat collaborates with leaders from Tātai Angitu, the Institute of Education, and the wider University to consolidate and optimise the design and delivery of professional learning and development (PLD) contracts and services. This includes managing a highly motivated group of facilitators, recruitment, and relationship development. In addition to this she manages the creation of curriculum resources, in contracts for the Ministry of Education, to use in New Zealand classrooms. With over a decade of experience in managing teams and projects remotely from her home in Whangārei, Cat has honed her skills as an effective, kind, and respectful remote manager of both people and projects. The Tātai Angitu team spans the country, and Cat is passionate about leading them to deliver high-quality professional learning and resources, fostering connections among team members and the wider Massey University community.
