Micaela Bonnar

Micaela has been teaching in Years 0-6 in Auckland since 2011. While she enjoys all aspects of teaching, her true passion lies in literacy. In 2018, Micaela received the Advanced Classroom Expertise Teacher (ACET) and has held several literacy leadership roles, including School Literacy Leader, Community of Learners In-School Leader, and Accelerated Learning in Literacy (ALL) Lead Teacher. In 2017, Micaela achieved her Masters of Education (First Class Honours) from The University of Auckland. Her thesis, titled "Are New Zealand's Literacy Policies Still Relevant for the 21st Century?" reflects her deep engagement with literacy education and policy. In 2023, she trained with the Institute for Multisensory Language Education and is now an Associate Member of the Australian Dyslexia Association (AMADA). Micaela joined the Tātai Angitu Literacy@Massey Team in 2024.
